Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The seismic expert who had predicted the Turkey Earthquake, , is back to making predictions regarding the earthquake that may hit the world soon. This prediction is expressed in a video uploaded on Youtube.

In the video, which is seen CNBC Indonesia Thursday (2/3/2023), Hoogerbeets said the first week of March will be a very critical point. He predicts there will be large seismic activity due to the convergence of the planetary geometries.

“Convergence of critical planetary geometries around March 2 and 5 could result in large to very large seismic activity,” he said in the video.

“There might even be a big thrust earthquake around March 3-4 and/or March 6-7”, he added.

In detail, Hoogerbeets claims that the strength of the expected earthquake could be more than 8 on the Richter scale. Its coverage area also stretches from the East Asian Continent to Indonesia.

“The affected area could stretch for thousands of kilometers, from the Kamchatka Peninsula and the Kuril Islands in the Russian Far East, all the way to the Philippines… Sulawesi, Halmahera, possibly the Banda Sea, Indonesia,” said the scientist working at the Geometric Survey of the Solar System (SSGEOS) That.

“I’m not exaggerating. I’m not trying to create fear. This is a warning,” he said.

Therefore he asked all parties to have a plan. He said careful planning could save many lives.

“When the ground shakes, you have to know what to do. You have to get out of your houses and buildings immediately. It will save lives,” he explained.

In fact, this prediction met with opposition from the Head of Geophysics Research of the Kamchatka branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Danila Chebrov. He even described Hoogerbeets’ predictions as ‘amateurish’.

“The relationship between the motions of the planets in the solar system and seismic activity on Earth is quite weak, and it will pose problems if you use it as the main prognostic tool,” Chebrov explained, quoted from the media B29 and NPR.

Previously, Hoogerbeets went viral after predicting the Turkey and Syria earthquake on February 3, which in fact occurred on February 6. At that time, he said “sooner or later a magnitude 7.5 earthquake will occur in this region (South Central Turkey, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon)”.

Three days later, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake hit Turkey and Syria. The disaster caused the death of more than 50,000 people, and strong aftershocks continue in the region to this day.
