Daily cases of coronavirus in Turkey have passed 14,000, marking the highest growth since May, the AFP news agency reported, quoted by BNT.
“If we don’t take action and if we don’t get vaccinated, it could take a long time to stop the pandemic,” Health Minister Fahretin Koca wrote on Twitter.
According to official figures, Turkey has registered 14,230 daily cases in the last 24 hours, a sharp increase of about 4,000 a day in the first days of July.
So far, Turkey has reported more than 5.5 million cases of the virus and more than 50,000 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
More than 39.4 million people received their first dose of the vaccine, and more than 22.8 million received a second.
