Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the United States has upset the balance in relations with Greece in favor of the latter, noting that Greece is violating the status of the demilitarized islands, to which the United States does not express any objections. This is reported by the agency TRT News.
Commenting on the supply of F-35 fighter jets to Greece, the minister said that, unlike Greece, “Turkey is not pursuing a blocking policy” because it “believes in itself.”
Cavusoglu reminded the US of the need to maintain a more balanced position between the two NATO member countries.
Meanwhile, the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken after meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Cavusoglu tweeted that Washington will continue to coordinate with Turkey on Ukraine, Syria and other issues.
