Turkey Suspends Olive Oil Exports Until November 1 Due to Global Price Increases

Turkey has suspended olive oil exports until November 1 due to global price increases. This was stated in the Ministry of Commerce of the country.

“The Ministry has decided to introduce additional measures regarding the export of olive oil, both in bottles and in barrels, before the start of the next harvest – until November 1, 2023,” the ministry said on twitter.

It is specified that due to the drought in Europe, the production of olive oil in the world decreased by 20%, while production in Turkey increased by 62%. The ministry said that due to high EU customs duties, Turkey can supply olive oil to EU countries in extremely small quantities.

Earlier, Türkiye stopped the transit of goods to the Russian Federation through its territory. It was about products that were on the sanctions list. MK.
