Turkey provides Libya with 150,000 doses of Sinovac vaccine against COVID-19

The Libyan Ministry of Health announced today that it received 150,000 doses of the
Vaccine China from Sinovac against COVID-19.

The ministry said the lot was provided in the framework of mutual cooperation between Libya and Turkey.

Libya has so far received 400,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the Libyan government said, urging people to register online to get vaccinated.

The Libyan National Center for Disease Control launched on April 10 a vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in Tripoli, the capital. Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and Health Minister Ali Zanati were the first in the country to be vaccinated.

According to Zanati, the first people to be vaccinated will be medical personnel who care for patients with Covid-19 in isolation units, the old with chronic diseases and the medical workers of the different hospitals and medical centers.

So far 170,045 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Libya, 155,117 people have recovered and 2,834 have died, the center said.
