President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan told Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi that he wanted to Turki and Iran take a “united stand” against “brutality” Israel towards Palestinians.
Erdogan said this in a telephone conversation to discuss “Israel’s unlawful attacks on Gaza, humanitarian aid efforts for Palestine, and steps that can be taken to achieve a permanent ceasefire in the region.” This is according to the Turkish Communications Directorate, as reported Al ArabiyaMonday (27/11/2023).
“In the telephone call, President Erdogan voiced the importance of the Islamic world, especially Turkey and Iran, taking a united stand against Israeli brutality on Palestinian land,” Turkey’s Communications Directorate said in a statement.
Erdogan “stated that Iran and Turkey will maintain cooperation to make the temporary ceasefire permanent and achieve permanent peace.”
Meanwhile, Raisi said during the telephone call that the US had no right to intervene and make decisions for the people of Gaza.
“People Gazathrough Hamas, as the legitimate and legal government resulting from the public vote, must decide the future of Gaza, and America has no right to intervene and make decisions for the people of Gaza, and any action they take in this regard is doomed to failure ,” said Raisi, as reported by Iran’s official news agency, IRNA.
