The fire that broke out on Thursday night in a mountainous area north of the district of Kordelios in Smyrna is burning uncontrollably.
Due to the speed of the wind, which reaches the area of 80 km per hour, the fire spread quickly threatening residential areas.
Settlements were evacuated, with the flames now entering houses.
According to information, 16 houses have been completely destroyed.
The thick black smoke has reached as far as Smyrna.
