“Turkey Discovers Massive Oil Field, Plans to Become Oil Exporter – Recep Tayyip Erdogan”

Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey will no longer need energy supplies and will move into the category of oil exporters.

A large oil field has been discovered in Turkey, which can produce 100,000 barrels of hydrocarbons per day. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the wells were discovered in the region of Mount Gabar on the border with Syria, where the conflict between Turkey and supporters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has been going on for decades, writes Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

Thanks to the discovery, the country plans to increase the production of the resource through 100 wells that are planned to be drilled in the region. The new well, he said, was named after a Turkish language teacher killed by PKK members, Aybuke Yalchin. Erdogan also hinted to representatives of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party that he would not allow them to disrupt the development and prevent Ankara from extracting oil in this area.

According to Erdogan, the field will allow Turkey to take a step towards energy independence and take a place in the global energy market, to which Ankara can offer a quality product.

As previously reported, China may completely abandon import Russian gas, as local gas production is growing rapidly.

Also in 2020, President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on the discovery of new natural gas fields in the Black Sea.

And Iranian oil will be able to compensate almost the entire volume that Russia delivers by tankers to Europe.
