One of the five cells made contact and met with a case officer from Mossad and provided important information and documents to Israel.
The report said information about Turkish and foreign students in Turkey was provided to Mossad in exchange for monetary payments. The spy cells work against Israel’s opponents in Turkey.
One of the main spies, identified as AB by the report, is suspected of gathering information about what facilities Turkey provides to Palestinians who oppose Israel in the country.
AB entered Turkey in late 2015 and was reported missing in June this year. The report he went missing was meant to divert attention to the spy cells that had been under surveillance since then.
Two other spies, identified as RAA and MAS, have also been reported missing.
The report appeared just a few weeks after the news agency Shehab The Hamas-affiliated group reported that seven Palestinians reported missing in Turkey have been arrested by Turkish intelligence services for spying on “Palestinian national figures” in Turkey for the Palestinian Authority General Intelligence Service and Mossad.
