Turbo problems cost # 7 Toyota the lead at Le Mans

Toyota drove both cars in the lead at the Circuit de La Sarthe halfway through the 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans, although the car with start number 8 had lost some time earlier in the race after a problem with the cooling of the brakes. As a result, the sister car with start number 7 had been given a lap lead in the lap, until that car also ran into problems.

Shortly after halfway through the race, Kamui Kobayashi had to send the # 7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid into the pits in leading position. The car had problems with the turbo, after which the mechanics of the Japanese brand could get to work. The car was eventually in the pits for half an hour, allowing Brendon Hartley to take the lead in the sister car with start number 8.

In addition to the # 8 Toyota, both Rebellions also passed the # 7 Toyota, dropping it back to fourth place. With six laps behind, the car was sent off the track with a new turbo.
