Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the nonprofit organization created in honor of fallen 9/11 firefighter Stephen Siller, is helping the family of a fallen NYPD officer pay off his mortgage. Anastasios Tsakos, a 14-year veteran NYPD officer, was killed by an alleged drunk driver Tuesday morning, tragically leaving behind a wife, six-year-old daughter and three-year-old son. “He was an amazing guy. He loved what he was doing. He was an amazing guy … it’s really tough,” Teddy Tsakos, the New York police officer’s brother, told “Fox & Friends” on Friday. . The young daughter of Tsakos added that she loved her uncle very much. Video
The brother of the 14-year veteran NYPD officer said that when he discovered the devastating news from his sister-in-law, she expressed concern about how she would pay for her new home. Tsakos assured him that they were going to “figure it out” and said Tunnel to Towers Foundation CEO Frank Siller called a few hours later, saying he was going to take care of the house.
“Police officers risk their lives every day for us so that we can live in a community,” Siller told co-host Ainsley Earhardt. “Tunnel to Towers Foundation, we are there for our first responders and our military and we want to make sure this mortgage is paid off immediately.”
