The Commissioner of the European Union in charge of enlargement and neighborhood policy, Olivier Varhelyi revealed, in a press release this Tuesday, March 29, 2022, on the sidelines of the signing of an agreement with the Minister of Economy, that Europe continues to support Tunisia and granted it a subsidized loan of 1.5 billion euros.
He added that the environment and sustainable development sector will be supported to the tune of 55 million euros.
Emphasizing that food products will also be subsidized, especially after the recent war between Russia and Ukraine, which caused a shortage of goods around the world.
It should be noted that the President of the Republic, Kais Saied received this Tuesday, at the Palace of Carthage, the Commissioner of the European Union in charge of enlargement and neighborhood policy.
In a statement made public today on its page, the Presidency of the Republic affirmed that Saied expressed Tunisia’s satisfaction with the solidity of its strategic partnership relations with the European Union, and its aspiration to develop them. more and to diversify them to include new and promising sectors in several fields.
