TUNIS. The day after the sit-in in front of the French embassy on Avenue Bourghiba, hundreds of thousands of demonstrators flocked to the capital Tunis and other governorates to protest against Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and in a sign of solidarity with the resistance Palestinian.
The protesters raised several slogans, including “Resistance, resistance, no reconciliation, no compromise”. Habib Bourguiba Street was transformed into a maxi-demonstration involving all Tunisian political and popular forces, during which the Tunisian and Palestinian flags were waved.
Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said Tuesday evening that around 500 martyrs were killed in an Israeli bombing that targeted the al-Ahli Arabi Baptist hospital in central Gaza city.
Meanwhile, Israeli officials accused the Islamic Jihad movement of being “responsible for the bombing of the hospital with a failed missile,” which the movement denied.
For the 13th day, Israel continued to launch intense raids on Gaza, cutting supplies of water, electricity, food and medicine to the Strip, which led to warnings from local and international bodies of the risk of a double catastrophe. humanitarian.
The hospital attack sparked harsh condemnation in many capitals, with accusations of collusion by the “international community” with Israel and calls to provide international protection to the Palestinian people, who have been under Israeli occupation for decades.
