A dispute between a banana seller
This came after his wife, Basma Hammami, confirmed yesterday that her husband is in critical condition and suffers from third-degree burns.
The player, the father of four children, died yesterday evening, as a result of the severe burns he sustained, after he set his body on fire in front of the police station in Hafuz.
The former player in the Monastirian Union and Convoys teams documented the process of setting himself on fire with a video clip that he posted on his Facebook account, stressing that he “was wronged after he filed a complaint with the security authorities following a dispute between him and a banana seller.”
He also explained at the time that he wanted to inform the police that one of the vendors had broken the law by selling bananas at a price higher than the legal price, but he was charged with terrorism. He said, “They implicated me in a case that I had nothing to do with.”
