The director general of the National Pharmacovigilance Center and member of the scientific committee for the fight against coronavirus, Riadh Daghfous, said on Wednesday that seasonal influenza viruses are spreading strongly in Tunisia and have found a suitable ground for it after registering a decline in their diffusion over the past two years.
He explained, in a statement to TAP, that mutations in flu viruses have found fertile ground to spread and have come back strongly after the decline of the coronavirus.
He explained that the coronavirus was dominant two years ago and left no room for flu viruses to spread, and people did not have strong immunity and antibodies against seasonal flu.
He asked for vaccination to better protect himself.
