The government finding itself powerless before the all-powerful central trade union, the UGTT, because of the fact that it needs its collaboration and its approval, to implement the conditions demanded by the donors, is obliged to support , at the expense of future generations, the extravagances of the leaders of the education unions, with their head of poster, Kaïs Yaâkoubi.
Taking advantage, in fact, of this ascendancy over the government, the latter does not hesitate to take advantage of the windfall to do as it pleases. Quite simply, it is in the process of destroying Tunisian teaching. A task that he has already largely begun for a few years, and that he has found the opportunity to complete, with the “complicity” of the covid pandemic.
Because of this character, our children are walking in the street. They are deprived of lessons, on the pretext that we are afraid for their health. While in reality, Yaâkoubi and company have nothing to do with children’s health, and what interests them first and foremost is the health and, above all, the comfort of teachers.
Yaâkoubi has already largely mortgaged the future of our children, with strikes and other interruptions of classes, until he obtained salary increases, which would shame anyone with an ounce of good meaning to understand that they are milking a dying cow, and that what they got should shame them in front of a people crying out for famine.
And, now that they are satisfied on the salary front, Yaâkoubi felt that teachers should take a break from the overwhelming work they were doing. Thus, on the pretext of a risk run by the students in relation to the covid pandemic, which is by no means true, according to epidemiological data, he decided by deciding, quite simply, to suspend lessons, until new order. And all the ministry’s efforts to resist his punches weren’t enough, and he ended up winning his case. Because he’s speaking on behalf of an organization that holds government by its throat.
The result of Yaâkoubi’s decisions will certainly soon be revealed, with globalization which has brought down all borders, our children who did not study last year, and who barely attended half of the courses during the current year, which Sieur Yaâkoubi decided to stop dead, will have to compete with young people from other Nations who do not have a Yaâkoubi, or a union of this kind, to to compete for a place in the sun, and to snatch a share of the job market which has become a subject with a global dimension.
With the level of our students and the few acquisitions they have been able to have over the past two years, we would do better to start now to follow the advice of a certain Sheikh who said, about unemployed doctors, that they better go and learn a manual profession. Because our children will not be able to aspire to integrate a job market and compete with young people from other Nations who respect themselves and their youth, and who, therefore, do not bow to the shameful blackmail of their unions!
