Financial resources, mainly provided in the form of loans, are intended to strengthen the competitiveness of companies and create jobs.
Abidjan – The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank (AfDB), based in Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire, has approved a financing package of EUR 92.3 million for the implementation of the Tunisian government’s programme to promote the competitiveness of companies and strengthen employment among the population (CAP-Emplois).
According to an AfDB press release dated August 12, the financing consists of a loan of EUR 90 million from the banking group and a grant of EUR 2.3 million from the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative (We-Fi) trust fund under the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA) initiative.
The program is to run for four years.
The CAP Emplois programme, developed by the Tunisian Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training with the support of the AfDB, will be implemented over four years starting in November 2024.
Its aim is to promote job creation in order to improve the living conditions of the population and to promote economic inclusion through entrepreneurship and skills development.
CAP Emplois also aims to promote the creation of new businesses, the growth and formalisation of existing businesses and better access to quality jobs for young people and women.
