Schiedam – The End Polio Now tulip bulb campaign of the Rotaryclub Schiedam de Veste has resulted in 5750 vaccinations.
Not only the members of the Rotary Club bought a box with tulip bulbs for this promotion, but also tapped into their own network. A total of 115 boxes were sold and will be delivered in the first week of November. This number allows 5750 vaccinations to be given.
Polio still occurs in Afghanistan and Pakistan. There, the polio outbreaks still persist and major vaccination campaigns remain necessary.
The promotion of the Schiedam Rotary Club is part of Rotary’s worldwide campaign in which the financial proceeds will be tripled by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
