Tulio Gómez confirmed that América de Cali will have its own stadium: these are the options

A new team in Colombia will join the Deportivo Cali as the only clubs in the country with own stadium. Its about America of Caliwho according to its largest shareholder, Tulio Gomez, is finalizing details with an investment fund that would be in charge of building the “scarlet” team. For now, there are two options that they handle for the creation of the sports scenario. The news was confirmed on the show Smoke Free Zone.

The first option is that the investment fund acquires through a contract the Pascual Guerrero stadium as a loan in order to remodel it and adapt it to be the house of the America in the matches played at home. The other is to build a totally new stage, the area destined for such construction would be in the municipality of Palmira, very close to the stadium of the Deportivo Cali.

Tulio Gomez assured that although he would like to stay in the Cali city, sometimes it is more profitable and cheaper to build something new than to remodel. However, the last option has the Investment fund and he only put some logistical conditions:

“I simply gave some conditions such as traffic, location, parking lots, the fund takes care of the rest.”

The leader assured that the idea is that this new scenario has conditions similar to those of the Santiago Bernabeuretractable grass and make it a stadium multieventos. In addition, he highlighted the progress in infrastructure that it would mean for palmyra have two soccer stadiums, of two of the most important teams in the country, in addition to the Alfonso Bonilla International Airport.

Tulio said that for the realization of this stage, with capacity between 38,000 and 45,000 people, América de Cali will not have to give money and that the investment fund finances it with the sale of boxes and the holding of events. The largest shareholder of America of Cali took advantage of this interview to attack Juan Carlos Osorio again during an interview on the portal Smoke Free Zonein which he questioned the players that the former Atlético Nacional brought at the time. “The truth is that Osorio chose very bad players, suckers, players who wanted to ingratiate themselves with the coach.”
