TUI fly had to abruptly interrupt flights to Alicante on September 4 when almost all of Spain was placed on code red by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Since then, the airline flew three more times a week to Alicante to repatriate travelers and to fly travelers there for essential reasons.
Now that the region of Valencia, including Alicante, has returned to ‘orange’, TUI fly has decided to resume regular flight operations. This concerns a daily flight from Brussels, five flights a week from Ostend, three from Antwerp and three from Charleroi. The routes from Ostend and Antwerp will be interrupted between November 9 and December 17.
According to TUI fly, this change of advice is “very positive news” for the thousands of Belgians who regularly fly to Alicante. “After all, the entire coastal region is known as a top region as a second residence for Belgians.” Alicante Airport is also the gateway to the popular resorts of Benidorm and Calpe.
