Tuesday and Wednesday, blood donation at the Campoamor Sports Center

Staff of the Cadiz Transfusion, Tissues and Cells Center of the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) will travel again tomorrow, Tuesday, and next Wednesday to the autonomous city to collect blood donations in Ceuta. This time it can be done in the Antonio Campoamor Sports Center and not in the Revellín Auditorium or the ground floor of the Autonomous Palace, as on previous occasions, both tomorrow afternoon from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., respectively.

To donate blood it is only necessary to be between 18 and 65 years old, weigh more than 50 kilograms and be in good general health. It is recommended to have breakfast before going.

Before doing so, interested citizens are asked for personal data so that their identification is precise and unequivocal, so it is necessary to go with a DNI or other supporting document.

It is also recommended to read the so-called “Self-Exclusion Sheet”, which contains the diseases that are suitable or not suitable for donation and the doubts that may arise for consultation with the health personnel.

Once the donation form has been completed, the donor must sign a document with an informed consent.

The blood donation itself is a simple and brief act that does not last more than 10 minutes and in which about 0.45 liters of blood are collected, which represents about 10% of the total blood that circulates through the body of an adult person.

Every day dozens of patients save their lives or recover their health thanks to blood transfusion. The donation is free and altruistic and cannot be for commercial purposes. It is not bought or sold: the initiative comes from you. The act of donating blood is simple, fast, practically painless and medically controlled. The whole process does not have to take more than half an hour.
