Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has asked club owner Roman Abramovic to make a transfer for West Ham United’s Declan Rice this summer transfer window.
The Daily Express said Tuchel presented his list of recommendations to the Blues hierarchy and that one of the names proposed was Rice.
The German has told Chelsea’s board he would like to see the 22-year-old at Stamford Bridge this summer, although the player’s asking price is now closer to £ 100million.
Rice was a transfer target for ex-Chelsea manager Frank Lampard last summer but the club’s board were unwilling to pay West Ham £ 80million for his signing.
Meanwhile, Tuchel recently said he would give Chelsea bosses his opinion on their transfer goals this summer.
“I have opinions on what we can add to the group to get better,” said the former PSG manager.
“It’s my job, and I’m going to give my opinion, and I’m asked for my opinion, and we will, and sometimes opinions change.
“It’s also a process, and I have my ideas, of course. I have ideas for some profiles. It’s not about me wanting this player A and B, and if they don’t come, I’m going to get angry. It has never been like this in my entire career. It won’t be like that.
