Here is an overview of how things went for the United loaned players on Saturday.
Serie A: Napoli – Sampdoria 1-0
Axel Tuanzebe was loaned to Aston Villa in the first half of the season, but on Saturday he was confirmed ready for Napoli on a loan out of season. On Sunday came his debut.
Napoli led 1-0 at home against Sampdoria when Tuanzebe came on 10 minutes before the end. He used those minutes to help Napoli to a zero back on the field and three points.
The reports on his performance were also ok.
With the victory, Napoli is in 3rd place in Serie A, five points behind league leader AC Milan. Inter in 2nd place is three points ahead and also has two games to spare at Napoli.
FA-cup: Charlton – Norwich 0-1
Brandon Williams is on to the 4th round with his Norwich, after the League One team Charlton was beaten 1-0 on Sunday.
Williams started on the bench, but came close in the break at the position 0-0 and was thus on the field when the winning goal came.
He was an improvement on the left back, and once again showed a few glimpses of the offensive races he became so famous for in Unied.
Norwich meet Wolverhampton away in the 4th round.
FA-cup: Mansfield – Middlesbrough 2-3
Keeper Nathan Bishop guarded Mansfield goals throughout the match when the team from level four met Middlesbrough from the Championship, two levels above, in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.
Bishop gets good shots on social media for his performance, but the dream of a cup feat lasted five minutes in overtime when an own goal gave the away team the victory.
League One: Doncaster – Fleetwood Town 0-1
Midfielder Ethan Galbraith played the entire match for League One bottom team Doncaster, but failed to prevent a new loss against another team from the lower half.
With a loss, Galbraith’s Doncaster is a full seven points below the relegation line.
FA-cup: Birmingham – Plymouth 0-1
Mengi Week debuted on loan for Championship side Birmingham on Saturday, but it ended in disappointment against Plymouth from the level below.
The home team had a player sent off after just over an hour, and lost in the extra innings.
Then it is a small consolation that 19-year-old Mengi received positive reviews for his interventions in the fight.
– Showed all the speed and power you can expect from a player who comes from a Premier League player. Birmingham’s best player – completely without competition, it is said in the Birmingham Mail.
In December, Mengi got half an hour on the field when United’s first team played 1-1 against Young Boys in the Champions League.
FA-cup: Hull – Everton 2-3
Hole, with United player Di’Shon Bernard on the team, got extra innings against Everton before the exit, but there was no match Bernard will remember.
He is said to have been involved in a couple of setbacks, and has had many better matches.
FA-cup: Yeovil – Bournemouth 1-3
Ethan Laird did not make his debut for Bournemouth.
SUNDAY: FA Cup: Nottingham Forest – Arsenal 18.10 Garner (Forest)
