On Wednesday, the Latvian women’s basketball club “TTT Rīga” gave way to the vice-champions of the last Euroleague season in the second game of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Euroleague main tournament. The Riga team lost “Perfumerias Avenida” in Salamanca with the result 41:72.
In the ranks of “TTT Rīga”, Tomasa was the most productive with 14 points, who also gave five productive passes, intercepted six balls, but also made six mistakes. Vanessa Jasa added nine points, but Daugile Šarauskaite scored eight points, collected nine rebounds and blocked three opponent shots.
Maria Emanuela Fasula, Avenida’s top scorer, scored 16 points.
In the first quarter, the housewives made several mistakes in violation of the 24-second attack time, and four minutes before the end of the quarter, TTT reached the norm of remarks, allowing opponents to throw free throws for each remark. Jessmine Thomas won all the points of Rigans in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Rigans were able to reduce the difference, but at the end of the quarter, the housewives regained a six-point lead. In the third quarter, the advantage of the Salamanca team only increased, at the end it was already 20 points. Although the winners were already clear, the housewives continued to dominate in the fourth quarter and finished the game with a 31-point lead.
The Riga team will play the next Euroleague game at home on October 21 against Moscow MBK.
A week ago, with 56:71, the Rigans gave up last season’s championship team of Ekaterinburg UGMK.
The main tournament of the Euroleague will end on February 1, 2022. The top four teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs, but the fifth and sixth place owners will continue the season in the European Cup.
