Representatives of the former rulers are among the lobbyists of Russian interests in our country. This was said in the program “Face to Face” on bTV by the President of the Republicans for Bulgaria Tsvetan Tsvetanov, leader of the list number 7 of the National Union of the Right in the Veliko Tarnovo and Blagoevgrad constituencies.
According to Tsvetanov, we must acknowledge and thank the politicians who during the transition years managed to outline the European horizon for our country to belong to the EU and NATO, which guarantees our overall territorial security and the ability to counter foreign influences. But as for the dependence on Russia – in the last 15-20 years, it is increasing, Tsvetan Tsvetanov was categorical and gave “Neftochim” as an example: “When it was privatized, at that time it could process oil from Algeria, Egypt, Iran and Iraq. After passing into the hands of Lukoil, it has already started processing only Russian oil. When we talk about the so-called diversification, we must always look for additional sources of gas that the Bulgarian economy can have, “said Tsvetanov.
Against this background, he stressed that the interconnection connection Komotini – Stara Zagora, which has a route of 170 km, has not been built for 12 years, but in contrast, the 400-kilometer pipe of “Turkish Stream” was built in a year and a half. And this pipeline only passes through our territory, with absolutely no branch in the country, and this does not allow for gasification of even a city like Vidin, but passes kilometers from it, said Tsvetanov. “This is a risk that our country has taken with the construction of this pipeline, with absolutely no risk for the Russian side, respectively for Gazprom,” he said.
Tsvetanov also reminded that even at the moment no one knows where the so-called Roadmap for the development of our gas transmission infrastructure, signed by former Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova and Gazprom. The reason is probably “because there are, perhaps, a lot of things related to this addiction we’re talking about.”
Tsvetan Tsvetanov again raised the question of whether representatives of the previous government, in the person of former Prime Minister Borissov, Temenuzhka Petkova and Tomislav Donchev, had held meetings in Bulgaria with people from the EU’s ban list on sanctions against Russia. According to him, these representatives of the former government were lobbyists of Russian interests.
Tsvetanov said that in the last 15 years, every political leadership of the country has pursued serious interests of Russia and said that he opposed it when he participated in the government.
As for our nuclear energy, the National Union of the Right proposes the construction of additional facilities at Kozloduy NPP and Gorna Arda. According to the representative of the National Union of the Right, our country is not yet ready for the transformation that is ahead of the Green Deal.
