This is stated in a special statement by Tsvetan Vassilev on the occasion of today’s press conference for certain media of Ivan Iskrov.
“Finger-sucked figures of huge bank losses have long been circulated by the lackeys of those who wished to destroy it. Isn’t it strange that the only arguments put forward by Mr. Governor are the absence of valuation records. Does anyone think that this was possible? Of course the files are in the investigative authorities. Isn’t it strange that you didn’t defend your deputy when he was accused before any evidence was collected? Is this how you protect the independence of one of the oldest institutions of the democratic society in Bulgaria?” asks Vassilev.
“Why did you not allow the shareholders to find a workable business solution for KTB? Why did you easily ignore their written and verbal statements of will? Do you think, Mr. Governor, that you can behave in such an arrogant way with representatives of a sovereign state fund of an independent country? Or maybe did you serve the interests of a certain group of people who are interested in not paying their debts to the bank? Or the interests of people who take control of the main part of the assets financed by KTB at greatly reduced prices,” says Tsvetan Vasilev.
“You accused me of withdrawing a huge amount of money in cash the day before the bank was placed under special supervision! It was not clear how and in what way this money was taken and handed over to me, given that since June 10, 2014, I have not I have been in Bulgaria. Since it has become clear to everyone that this scenario has been directed by a certain group of people who have been racketeering me and KTB for years, I would like to inform the public that I have testified before judges from European Union countries who are accordingly notarized. Waving unproven and fabricated accusations, with the help of people crushed by fear and violence, is not a reason for complacency,” said Vassilev and addressed the customers of Corporate Bank.
“With these special lines I address you to thank you for your confidence and to assure you that I will not allow the price of settling accounts with me to be paid by you. I am confident that soon your interests will be adequately protected. As for the institutions that cooperated and did nothing to make all this happen – we will talk to them in court,” he emphasizes.
