/ world today news/ The owner of KTB Tsvetan Vassilev has requested a Serbian passport, the Serbian “Blitz” reported.
However, legal experts in our neighbor are adamant that this can neither help nor delay his handover to our country, the publication claims. “Even if Vassilev had requested Serbian citizenship, this will not prevent his extradition to Bulgaria,” Prof. Milan Shkulich from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade told the newspaper. According to the expert, a Serbian citizen cannot be extradited, but this does not apply to those persons who are in the process of obtaining citizenship. “When examining the decision, the court takes into account the citizenship that the person currently has,” says Shkulich.
