KV Mutterstadt – TSV Grobardorf 1: 7 (3299: 3436 / 10.5: 13.5). What a start for the ambitious TSV Grobardorf into the new season. The sextet of coach Axel Tchert achieved a clear 7: 1 success in Mutterstadt. And that without the regulars Christian Helmerich and Torsten Frank. On the part of the guests, Patrick Ortloff, who was the only one to reach the coveted 600 mark with exactly 600 pieces of wood, was particularly convincing.
Pascal Schneider (against Jrgen Puff, who was replaced by Johannes Hartner after 60 litters) and Andy Behr (against Jochen Schweizer) went to the canter. Both TSV players got off to a great start. They each won the first two rounds. But then Schneider slowed down noticeably and had to leave the two remaining rounds to his opponent. With 2: 2 set points (SP) he still scored the first team point (MP) due to the better wood count (567: 545). Andy Behr increased to 2: 0, he prevailed against Swiss with 3: 1 VP and 586: 544 wood.
In the middle section, Tchert used the newcomer Daniel Eberlein (against Markus Vetter) and Marco Schmitt (against Bastian Hrt). The newcomer to the TSV ranks didn’t get going that day. After 60 litter Eberlein made way for Matthias Menninger, who could not avert the defeat either (1.5: 2.5 / 533: 548). It went better for Schmitt, who brought down more cones than his opponent at 2-2 SS. Grobardorf went into the last third with a 3: 1 lead and a 71 wooden cushion.
Ren Wagner (against Wilfried Klaus) and Patrick Ortloff (against Armin Kuhn) brought this lead safely to the finish. Wagner had won his duel after just three lanes. Overall, he prevailed with 3: 1 VP and 572: 535 wood. Since Ortloff, after a 1: 2 VP deficit, took the last lane with a good 150 wood against 145 from Kuhn, he won a direct duel with 2: 2 VP due to the better wood count (600: 571).
That it will be difficult for the Tchert protégés this season was proven by the results on the first day of the championship favorite Lorsch (3773 wood), with five players scoring over 600 pins and Jochen Steinhauer shining with 676 wood. Regensburg (3656), Zeil (3576), Hirschau (3562) and Ohrdruf (3489) also made people sit up and take notice. (gmad)
Grobardorf: Pascal Schneider 567 (1 MP), Andy Behr 586 (1 MP), Daniel Eberlein / Matthias Menninger 533, Marco Schmitt 578 (1 MP), Ren Wagner 572 (1 MP), Patrick Ortloff 600 (1 MP).
