TSV Bocholt’s Rhythmic Gymnasts Compete at International City Cup in Düsseldorf

Last Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at the International City Cup in Düsseldorf, among a total of almost 100 rhythmic gymnasts there were also four athletes from the represent TSV. Besides many German clubs from all over Germany, including two gymnasts from the German national team, there were also participants from Luxembourg.

Annelie Bergmann in the age group Pupil 10 (born 2013) made the start for TSV in the morning. In a very strong field of participants, she performed a nice exercise without hand apparatus. During her practice with the ball, a few technical errors crept in that cost points. “Compared to the last competitions, the exercises were much safer,” says trainer Annkathrin Brunner. In the end, Bergmann took 10th place.

Also in the morning Marit Panofen did gymnastics in the age group Pupil 12 B (born 2011). She also did a good exercise without hand apparatus with a lot of expression. In the exercise with the clubs, however, she also had to accept point deductions due to equipment losses during the throws. Nevertheless, she was able to secure a place on the podium in third place.

Immediately after the lunch break, Kira Sophie Mayer started in the Junior 13 B age group (born in 2010). “She did very good exercises with both the ball and the hoop without making any major mistakes,” reported the trainer. “She just barely missed the podium with fourth place.”

Later in the afternoon it was Annika Brunner’s turn in the Senior B age group (born in 2007 and older). She performed her exercise with the ball to Michael Jackson’s Earth song without any major mistakes. During her subsequent exercise with the clubs, a few apparatus losses were reflected in the points tableau. She ended up finishing seventh.

After their exercises, all gymnasts could relax and follow the competition of the Senior A athletes from the grandstand. “This was another highlight at the end of the competition day,” said the TSV trainer, “because here, among others, Anna Shenenko from Leverkusen and Neele Arndt from Berlin from the German RSG national team competed against each other in a competition that Anna Shenenko won in the end .”

It was the last competition of the season for the individual gymnasts in these age groups of the TSV. They can now concentrate on developing their new exercises for the coming season.

It will be exciting again for the group gymnasts on the 3rd weekend in June. Then they start at the Germany Cup in Dahn.
