It may take several hours or more from the time a tidal level change due to a tsunami is observed until the maximum wave is observed.
Depending on the location, there is a possibility that a tsunami even larger than the height of the observed tsunami may have reached the area.
It is possible that the height of tsunamis will become even higher in the future.
Explanation
Please evacuate immediately.
Damage caused by the tsunami will occur.
People in coastal areas or along rivers should immediately evacuate to a safe location such as higher ground or an evacuation building.
Tsunamis strike repeatedly. Do not leave your safe area until the warning has been lifted.
Being in the sea or near the coast is dangerous.
Anyone in the water should immediately get out of the water and move away from the shore.
As currents will continue to be strong, please avoid entering the sea or approaching the coast until the advisory is lifted.
People in coastal areas or along rivers where a warning has been issued should immediately evacuate to a safe location such as higher ground or an evacuation building.
The predicted arrival time is the earliest time the tsunami will arrive in the forecast area. Depending on the location, the tsunami may hit much later than this time.
It may take several hours or more for the tsunami to reach its highest level from the estimated arrival time, so regardless of the height of the observed tsunami, please do not leave your safe place until the warning is lifted.
Depending on the location, the tsunami height may be higher than the “expected tsunami height.”
