Koumoundourou launched a fierce attack against State MP Evangelos Apostolakis, after the declaration of withdrawal from SYRIZA-PS and the decision to make him independent without handing over his parliamentary seat. SYRIZA-PS characterizes the decision of Evangelos Apostolakis as pre-written and identifies his attitude as a “shameful apostasy”.
SYRIZA-PS points out that by leaving without handing over the seat, he insults the party that honored him by placing him on the State Ballot, the voters of SYRIZA-PS and the choice of SYRIZA-PS members, as expressed recently in the presidential elections.
It is noteworthy that according to information from the staff of Alexis Tsipras, the former prime minister and former president of SYRIZA had a telephone conversation with Evangelos Apostolakis on the initiative of the deputy in the previous days. Alexis Tsipras, as his interlocutors point out, conveyed his position to him in an absolute manner that “especially an appointed member of parliament when he disagrees with the party that elected him resigns, leaving the seat that neither politically nor morally belongs to him. He obviously listened to other people’s advice!
It was to be expected that Koumoundourou would launch heavy fire against Evangelos Apostolakis, in the event that he left and kept his seat, as he was not elected with a cross in 2023 but was placed on the State ballot by the decision of the then president of the party, Alexis Tsipras.
Thus, Koumoundourou calls on the SYRIZA State Member of Parliament – PS Evangelos Apostolakis, retired admiral, honorary Chief of GEETHA to hand over the seat even at the last moment and adds that otherwise from now on he will bear “the mark of apostasy, trespass and offending the popular verdict and will, as well as serving the aims of the government Mitsotakis and the entanglement, who are particularly worried by the restart and strengthening of SYRIZA-PS”.
Shortly after the declaration of independence by Evangelos Apostolakis, on the evening of November 28, SYRIZA-PS issued the following statement:
“The prescribed decision of Evangelos Apostolakis ends today with his shameful apostasy. He didn’t think about the Party that honored him by placing him on the State Ballot, nor the voters of SYRIZA-PS.
And he insults the choice of SYRIZA-PS members, as he recently expressed in the presidential elections.
From now on, it will bear the mark of apostasy, trampling and insulting the popular verdict and will, as well as serving the Mitsotakis government’s aims and the entanglement, which are particularly worrying from the relaunch and strengthening of SYRIZA-PS.
He must, even at the last moment, hand over the seat that does not belong to him, especially since SYRIZA-PS placed him on the State Ballot. Otherwise, the Greek people will send him to the basket of political history. And no one is going to save him there.”
