Bebou shocks BVB
The guest from Hoffenheim got off to a better start and with Can’s friendly support. The national player played a dangerous pass to Nico Schlotterbeck on the edge of the penalty area. Ihlas Bebou sprinted between them, then took the ball towards the goal and hit the ball into the net from an acute angle (2nd). However, BVB appeared unimpressed, bit into the encounter and from then on gained a clear advantage. Marcel Sabitzer and Donyell Malen in particular tried to score on several occasions. Among other things, Oliver Baumann made a desperate save against the Dutchman in his 450th Bundesliga game (19th).

Less than 120 seconds later, the keeper had no chance against Malen. The striking Marco Reus extended a corner from Julian Brandt with his head and Malen only pushed in (21′). Schlotterbeck then headed a free kick from Reus to give Dortmund the lead (25′). And BVB stuck with it and wanted to increase before the change. Sabitzer tried again after a short corner, but the ball was blocked (43′). The host dominated the encounter, but didn’t create any more compelling chances until the break.
Double pack from Beier
Once again it was the guests who came out of the locker room with a lot of momentum. Hoffenheim wanted more possession of the ball. Dortmund seemed completely unsettled out of nowhere, stood extremely low and let the guests run. At first, TSG couldn’t think of much. After Niclas Füllkrug lost the ball in the opposing penalty area, Florian Grillitsch was the quickest to switch and sent Maximilian Beier, who didn’t allow himself to be asked from 20 meters. The 21-year-old took a dry shot and hit Schlotterbeck, who deflected the ball unstoppably towards the goal (61′).

And Hoffenheim wanted more. Anton Stach was released on the right side via a counterattack. The 25-year-old picked up the pace, brought the ball sharply in front of the opponent’s goal and Beier was there again (65th). Brooks could have even increased the score after a corner, but the ball came too centrally to Alexander Meyer in the Dortmund box (73′). Terzić reacted and brought some offensive strength for the final phase.

In fact, Karim Adeyemi and Youssoufa Moukoko livened up the encounter again, but BVB was no longer really compelling. It wasn’t until stoppage time that Can missed the equalizer when he headed over the goal after a corner (90+4). Next Saturday Dortmund will be guests at Union Berlin, Hoffenheim awaits Werder Bremen.
