TSG Hoffenheim managed a 2-1 win (2-0) against SV Werder Bremen. Maximilian Beier (8th, 44th) put the Sinsheim team in the front with a brace, but after Marius Bülter (73rd) was shown a yellow-red card, Skelly Alvero’s (90th +2) goal came too late.

How do you do in the official Bundesliga Fantasy Manager?
As in the previous week, Pellegrino Matarazzo at TSG Hoffenheim relied on the double six made up of youngsters Umut Tohumcu and Anton Stach, but before that a real striker, Wout Weghorst, played instead of the ailing Andrej Kramarić (bench). On the left, Marius Bülter replaced the injured Robert Skov.

At SV Werder Bremen, Ole Werner only decided to make a change compared to the 1-1 draw against Darmstadt. Instead of sprinter Justin Njinmah, who, like Kramarić, sat on the bench after being injured, striker Nick Woltemade started in the double front alongside Marvin Ducksch.

The game started immediately with fireworks of opportunities. First Maximilian Beier shot past the left after a chipped pass from Tohumcu (6th), then Ihlas Bebou was denied by Michael Zetterer from a tight angle (8th). But the following corner brought the first celebration: Stach’s cross from the corner flag found Beier at the second post, who prevailed against Mitchell Weiser and fired the ball directly into the net – 1-0 (8th).
Then Werder also joined in the flood of chances: Jens Stage was released with a chip pass in the penalty area, but the ball missed and the shot was blocked (18th). Stach aimed flat at the goal from the back area on the left, but was denied by Zetterer (22′). Felix Agu then volleyed a cross from Weiser next to the box (23′), Stage missed a cross from Romano Schmid in a full sprint (24′) and Marvin Ducksch failed with a header past keeper Oliver Baumann (26′). Ducksch’s shot from 16 meters didn’t find its way into the goal either, but instead hit the right post (39′).

Finally, Hoffenheim discovered Bebou’s pace. A long ball found the right winger in full sprint, but his cross missed Beier, who was also lightning fast, at the near post (43′). A minute later, the duo did better. This time Bebou crossed to the second post, where the youngster jumped into the ball and sank it coolly into the net – double, 2-0 (44th)!
After the break the game calmed down a bit. Only Agu had a free shot after a stage cross pass (52′), but missed the goal. Then the speed team combined again: Bebou sprinted deep and crossed to Beier. But this time the youngster failed because of Zetterer’s strong rush (58′). Bremen also had to tremble after a sprint duel between the double packer and Malatini in the 70th minute, but even after VAR was used, referee Matthias Jöllenbeck assessed the situation as a collision, not as a penalty-worthy foul by the Bremen player.

Shortly afterwards, Werder got new life: Bülter was shown a yellow-red card for a hard foul on Schmid (73′), Bremen remained in the majority for a good 20 minutes. Substitute Njinmah had the best chance to connect, hitting the side netting after a strong sprint from a tight angle (88′). In stoppage time, Skelly Alvero caused tension: He artfully directed a Weiser cross with a backheel shot into the net (90th +2). Shortly before the final whistle, Leonardo Bittencourt fired a long-range shot just wide of the post, and then the Sinsheimers celebrated their shaking victory.
