Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse is a perfect example of how the game doesn’t have to be smart or beautiful to have a lot of fun with it. Already in 2005, it was a bright B-movie that parodied classic movies with living corpses by letting you play for one of them.
You could make fellow enemies of the killed enemies, in addition to eating brains, the enemies could also be eliminated by throwing your own head or toxic farts (for more see our period review). All accompanied by a great rock soundtrack, which was dominated by the bands The Raveonettes and The Walkmen.
Last year’s remaster didn’t change anything, it only brought support for higher resolutions and achievements. Because there is no competition in this genre, it is worth sin today. Especially when it’s free.
You can add the game to the library for free in the Epic Store (on this link), then it will stay in your library forever. But beware, you only have a week, on Thursday 21.10. will be replaced by another title.
