Trust me, Lisandro Martinez will struggle next season

Jakarta

Lisandro Martínez so far it looks okay together Manchester United. However, Patrice Evra believes Martinez will struggle next season.

Martinez joined United last summer from Ajax. It was doubtful that the Argentine defender could fit into the Premier League due to his physique.

However, Martinez has so far proved capable of proving himself. The duet of him with Raphael Varane in the backline of MU is quite solid.

While impressed by Martinez’s performance, Evra believes this is not a long-term guarantee. The former MU defender believes Martinez will struggle next season because opponents have been studying him.

“Lisandro Martinez has impressed me this season. At the beginning of the season when he arrived, many people were talking about his height, but he is a pit bull,” Evra said as reported by Metro.

“That’s what United fans want to see. South American players have that passion, they have that desire to give everything, they play with their heart.”

“He wants to bleed for the club and you can see now that he’s paired with any player, he’ll do well.”

“But next season people will get to know Martinez better, the coach will study him and know his weaknesses. He’s aggressive so maybe people will try to send him away.”

“I remember Gabriel Obertan playing for us, he came in, we won and he said: ‘Patrice wow, it’s really easy to play with you guys, the Premier League is really easy’.”

“For some players it’s easy, but not for me, but consistency is key. Even if Lisandro will do well the rest of the season, next year will be tough for him, trust me,” said Evra.
