Globally, trust in AI companies has changed over the past five years. Many markets around the world trust them much less than in 2019. According to the report, around 53% of surveyed users truly trust AI companies worldwide. However, this number is significantly lower than five years ago. At the time, about 61% of users trusted AI companies. In the US, that number dropped from 50% five years ago to just 35%. That’s a pretty significant drop.
Five years ago, generative artificial intelligence was not really interesting to the public. So, we can bet that the advent of this technology caused a sharp decline. In addition to allowing users to generate content, another factor is that there is little regulation. People are demanding more government regulation of AI. “When it comes to regulating artificial intelligence, the public response is pretty clear: ‘What regulation?’” said Justin Westcott, Edelman’s global chief technology officer.
Currently, AI technologies do not have any real laws or regulations, so it is understandable that people are losing faith in this technology. Research data reveals that most advanced companies are less likely to use AI technology. This list includes countries like France, Australia, USA, UK, Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland and Canada.
However, it appears to be the opposite for countries such as Saudi Arabia, India, China, Kenya, Nigeria and Thailand. These countries are likely to adopt AI technology.
