Trump has declined to make his tax returns public, but a congressional tax committee has provided a small overview of the former president’s finances before Christmas.
The committee’s overview showed that Trump paid $1.1 million in taxes in two of the years he was in the White House, but next to nothing in the other two years.
According to the committee’s data, the 76-year-old billionaire sustained huge business losses in the period 2015 to 2020, hence the low tax rate.
A House of Representatives budget committee decided last week that Trump’s tax returns should be made public in redacted form, and a committee spokesman said Tuesday that this would be done on Friday.
