An extraordinary statue was erected in the capital of the United States, Washington, this week.

The organization that applied for permission for the statue resembling the poop emoji got a week’s permission for the bronze monument. The statue now stands right next to the congress building.

In the same place where the statue now stands the president Donald Trump‘s supporters rioted in 2021 and eventually broke into the House of Congress. The rioters protested the result of the presidential election and Joe Biden election for president.

Five people died as a result of the riot, and according to the United States Department of Justice, the riot caused around 1.4 million euros in damages. Several members of Congress have said that feces and urine were used to desecrate the building. The matter has been reported by, among others, the New York Post.

We now want to honor these actions with the poop statue.

The text is engraved on the side of the statue:

“This memorial honors the brave men and women who broke into the United States’ capitol on January 6, 2021 to loot, urinate and defecate in those hallowed halls to overturn the election.”

As a result of the congressional takeover, more than a thousand people have been charged with participating in the attack.

Donald Trump has called those accused of the attack hostages and said he intends to pardon the accused if he is re-elected president.

The statue has strongly divided the opinions of the United States. Reactions on social media have ranged from utter bewilderment and “tacky” comments, to “awesome!” to screams.

A member of the Civic Crafted LLC organization, which applied for permission for the statue and eventually received it, has not responded to requests for interviews from local media, writes Reuters.
