The winner of one of the anticen Golden Raspberry categories for the worst films this year was the lawyer of the American ex-president Donald Trump, Ruda Giuliani, who involuntarily played one of the roles in the continuation of the comedy Borat. The film Music also won several trophies, for which its director, singer Sia, as well as the representatives of the main roles – Kate Hudson and Maddie Zieglerová – received the Golden Raspberry.
Last year, Giuliani fell into the trap of British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who sent a fake journalist behind him and had him filmed with a hidden camera. The young actress, who appears in the film as a reporter who is interested in Trump’s reaction to the covid-19 pandemic, invited a lawyer for a drink at the end of the scene and removed his microphone. Giuliani then lay down on the bed and began to reach into his pants when Borat burst into the room and shouted, “She’s fifteen, she’s too old for you.”
Lawyer Giuliani received the Golden Raspberry for acting in a supporting role, the worst actor in the lead role was named Mike Lindell, the head of an American bedding company. He made the documentary Absolute Proof, in which he tried to prove the thesis of manipulation in the US presidential election. His film also won the main prize.
The winners of other categories were the American family comedy Dolittle about a doctor who can talk to animals, and the Polish erotic drama produced by Netflix 365 days.
The Golden Raspberry Awards Foundation, which has just over 1,000 members and elects the nominees online, awards the prizes for the worst films and acting each year. In 1980, California publicist and film fan John Wilson came up with the idea of awarding film anti-prizes.
