According to US broadcasters, in the US presidential election, the Republican candidate Donald Trump won in six other states, including Florida, while the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris won in two states and the capital Washington. In addition to Florida, Trump picked up victories in Missouri, Oklahoma, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina, while Harris won in Maryland and Massachusetts, the networks reported Tuesday. So far, the results from the various states were expected.
To win the presidential election, Trump or Harris must win at least 270 of the 538 electoral votes cast at the state level. On Tuesday evening around 8:15 p.m. Washington time, Trump had 99 voters, Harris 27.
The focus is on those states where both candidates have a realistic chance of winning. The group of these so-called swing states includes seven states: Georgia (16 electors), Pennsylvania (19), North Carolina (16), Michigan (15), Wisconsin (10) and, in the west, Arizona (11) and Nevada (6). The results there were still pending, and the counting of votes could take a long time, especially in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
