Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia Former United States (US) President Donald Trump will not provide money to help Ukraine fight Russia, if he wins the presidency again, in order to speed up the end of the war. This was conveyed by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban after meeting with Trump in Florida last Friday.

“He will not give a penny to the Ukraine-Russia war and therefore the war will end,” Orban told state television on Sunday evening, as reported Reuters.

“It is clear that Ukraine cannot stand alone.”

“If America does not provide money and weapons, and also Europe, then this war will end. And if America does not provide money, then Europe will not be able to finance this war itself, and the war will end.”

Hungary itself has refused to send weapons to Kyiv and has maintained close economic ties with Moscow since Russian troops invaded Ukraine in 2022. He last met Russian President Vladimir Putin in October in China, despite European Union efforts to isolate Moscow.

Even so, the statement from the Trump campaign team did not mention Ukraine. An official statement from the campaign team said that Trump and Orban discussed issues affecting both countries, including the security of their respective borders.
