US President Donald Trump visited the bedside of his younger brother Robert, who was being treated in a New York hospital on Friday. The billionaire had covered his face with a protective mask when he arrived at the New York Presbytarian Hospital in Manhattan.
The visit lasted around 45 minutes, according to an AFP reporter covering the presidential trip. “He’s going through a difficult time,” the 45th President of the United States said afterwards of his younger brother.
Born in 1948, Robert Trump is seriously ill, according to press reports that do not go into details. The American president made this detour in New York, when he planned to spend the weekend at his golf club in Bedminster, in neighboring New Jersey.
The president’s younger brother has held senior positions in the family real estate empire, the Trump Organization. A fierce defender of his older brother, Robert Trump, recently unsuccessfully tried to prevent the release of a book by the president’s niece on the Trump clan. The book presents Donald Trump as a pathological liar and a narcissistic character.
