Donald Trump did not oppose the support package approved by the US House of Representatives.

Former US President Donald Trump has changed his mind about supporting Ukraine, according to various media, such as The New York Times.
Previously, Trump had expressed that the United States should not give Ukraine direct support. According to Trump, support should have been given at most as a loan that will be repaid.
However, Trump did not object to the roughly EUR 56 billion support package approved by the House of Representatives on Saturday, even though it is mostly free support.
Instead, Trump backed House Speaker Mike Johnson, who brought the stimulus package to a vote despite opposition from many Republicans.
Trump has also recently stated on social media that the survival and strength of Ukraine is important to the United States.
As usual, however, Trump criticizes Europe, which he thinks should bear greater responsibility for supporting Ukraine.
– Why has the United States spent over 100 billion dollars more on the war in Ukraine than Europe, even though we have an ocean between us? Trump wrote on social media.
Trump has claimed that Russia would not have invaded Ukraine if he had been re-elected in 2020. He has also said that he would be able to end the war immediately if he is re-elected president in November.
News corrected on 22 April 2024 at 9:48 am. The US presidential election was held in 2020, not 2019.
