UNITED STATES – Another blow. A New York judge decided this Thursday, February 17 that Donald Trump and two of his children, Donald Jr. and Ivankawere to testify in the context of the civil investigation into the tax practices of his group conducted by the New York State Attorney.

After a hearing by videoconference, the judge rejected the request of the Trump camp, which wanted to cancel the request for testimony made by the prosecutor Letitia James.

Accordingly, Judge Arthur Engoron ordered Donald Trump to “come and testify within 21 days of this decision” on Thursday, that is by March 10. An order that also applies to his children. The 45th President of the United States (2017-2021) can appeal this decision.

As part of this investigation opened in 2019, prosecutor Letitia James, a member of the Democratic Party, announced in January “having uncovered significant evidence that suggests that Donald J. Trump and the Trump Organization have falsely and fraudulently valued many of assets”, in order to obtain loans on the one hand, and to pay less taxes on the other hand.

“Justice has prevailed”, immediately welcomed Letitia James in a press release, judging that “no one is above the law”.
