Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has sued CBS. The reason for this is the Democratic presidential candidate Horrible Harris interview that aired on CBS in October. Reuters and Fox News reported on the matter, among others.
According to Trump’s lawyers, the cause of the lawsuit is “CBS’s biased and illegal actions in which it interfered with the election and voters with a misleading and significant distortion of the news.” In addition, according to the lawyers, Harris’ interview was edited in favor of the Democratic Party. Trump’s lawyers had also previously demanded that the channel provide a complete transcript of the Harris interview, but CBS refused.
The suit was filed in a court in the state of Texas. Trump is demanding a jury trial and at least $10 billion in damages.
The channel denies
The accusations are aimed at CBS 60 Minutes -program, where Harris was asked why it seems that the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanjahu not listening to the US. In the first published video, Harris answered the question in a different way than in the later televised broadcast.
CBS denied the allegation that it had “edited” the Harris interview and assured that the interview had not been faked. The channel explained in its earlier statement that both versions had the same question and the same answer, but the answer was just split into two parts.
– When we edit any interview, we try to be clear and precise. His answer 60 Minutes program was more concise, which gives time to other topics in the extensive 21-minute episode, the statement explained.
