Donald Trump presented a Lawsuit against journalist Bob Woodward, who is remembered for the “Watergate” case in the 1970s, for $50 million. This is for having breached an agreement regarding the making of an audio-book.
“I’m still fighting against the false, corrupt, dishonest and deranged media by filing this lawsuit against a man whose image is very different from the real oneBob Woodward, its publisher Simon & Schuster and its parent company, Paramount Global,” said the former US president.
He pointed out that the tapes that the journalist used for his book “They were only to be used for the written word, that is, to help in the accuracy of the book,” in reference to “Rage” (Fury), published in 2020.
The reasons for the complaint
According to the former president, he never gave his permission so that the recordings of the interviews he had with Woodward would be used for that audio-book.

“It was an open and blatant attempt to make me look as bad as possible“Trump claimed. who has already launched his candidacy for the next elections, with the firm intention of returning to the White House.
According to Trump’s lawyers, the case is about “usurpation, manipulation and systematic abuse” of the audios collected, in relation to a series of interviews conducted by Woodward.
The 79-year-old veteran journalist became a celebrity after having discovered – together with Carl Bernstein – a network of wiretapping and espionage, called ‘Watergate’ which led to the resignation of the then president, Richard Nixon, in 1972.
