In the video, President Trump dismissed the stimulus as “disgrace,” saying the stimulus was not as expected.
He pointed out that the bill was unnecessarily supporting foreign governments. It also urged Americans to make corrections, such as paying more cash. It did not explicitly state that he would veto the bill; the video came out less than 24 hours after the Senate passed the bill.
On the 21st, the House and Senate passed the fifth stimulus package for Corona 19. The bill was completed after months of labor.
The stimulus package included an additional $300 per week unemployment benefit for 11 weeks, and $600 cash for both adults and children under the age of 16.
Earlier in March, the $2.2 trillion stimulus package passed by Congress gave adults and children $1,200 and $500, respectively.
President Trump wanted the new stimulus package to include a plan that pays up to $2,000 per person (about 2.2 million won).
In the video, President Trump said, “I asked Congress to amend the bill. I asked him to raise the ridiculously low $600 to $2,000 or the couple to $4,000.”
This contradicts Treasury Secretary Steven Manusin’s earlier comments. Minister Manusin, who confirmed the contents of the bill before the bill was passed, said on the 21st that “the first funding may be deposited into a bank account next week.”
In addition, he expressed his position against the presidential election.
President Trump said that if Congress doesn’t come up with a decent stimulus package, the next administration will have to solve the problem.
“Maybe the next administration will be me, and we will get this done,” he stressed.
