Former US President Donald Trump has said he would not allow such a development in the current situation around Ukraine.
The Republican said there was “no reason” for the current escalation of tensions around Ukraine.
“I know Russian President Vladimir Putin very well, and he would not have done that under Trump, which he is doing now,” he said.
Trump stressed that the sanctions against Russia that Washington intends to impose “will be insignificant” compared to Moscow’s actions.
The former US president reiterated that the policies pursued by his successor Joe Biden’s administration had “enriched Russia” due to the fact that “oil prices have doubled and will soon triple or quadruple”. According to the Republican, the United States under Biden’s rule has lost the energy independence that the Trump administration has achieved.
