Trump says he plays golf ‘too fast’ to get ‘a little’ exercise • Forbes Mexico

EFE.- The president of the United States, Donald Trump, responded to those who criticize him for having gone to play golf and assured that he does it “very fast” to do “a little” exercise.

The president played his favorite sport this Saturday at his club in Sterling, Virginia, just outside Washington, while the US recorded a new record with 66,528 new cases, according to the independent count by Johns Hopkins University.

“When I play, fake media outlets like CNN and others park anywhere to take a picture and then shout that ‘President Trump is playing golf.’ In fact, I play VERY fast, I do a lot of work on the golf course and I do ‘a little’ exercise too. Not bad! ”, Stated on Twitter.

In addition, the president compared himself with his predecessor Barack Obama (2009-2017) and assured that he “played much more and for longer.”

For years, Trump criticized Obama every time he took a few days off or played golf, and in 2011 he came to question the now-president’s “work ethic” for his decision to spend ten days on vacation on a Massachusetts island.

Before coming to the White House, Trump also criticized vacationers and promised that if he came to power he would hardly spend time on leisure.

However, the president has taken vacations on other occasions, although this summer at the moment he has nothing planned.

According to the specialized outlet Golf News Net, Trump has played golf 275 times since he came to power in January 2017.

Meanwhile, for a month now, the coronavirus has been hitting the southern and western states of the United States, such as Florida, Texas, California, Arizona and Georgia, which were the first to reopen their economies.

This Saturday, 66,528 new infections were registered, which is the fifth time in a few days that the barrier of 60,000 cases has been exceeded, according to Johns Hopkins University.

According to the same source, the US has 3.24 million cases and more than 134,800 deaths since the start of the pandemic. EFE
