Trump retweet alleged whistleblower name in settlement NOW

On his Twitter, US President Donald Trump has Friday night shared a message in which someone was designated as the alleged whistleblower in his removal proceedings, reports the news agency AP.

Although the retweet was published on Friday night, the tweet did not appear on the timeline of many Twitter users on Saturday night due to a bug, a Twitter representative told news agency AP.

This is a possible name of the whistleblower within the American intelligence service who uncovered the telephone conversation between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on which a deposition procedure was started against the president. It is not confirmed that the above name is actually the whistleblower.

Trump has threatened to unmask the whistleblower several times, but it is the first time that he has shared a name, even if it is indirect. If this is actually the name of the whistleblower, then President Trump is breaking US law. Revealing the identity of a whistleblower within the US intelligence services is in fact prohibited by a federal security law.

On December 19, President Trump was charged with (impeachment) for abuse of power. This makes Trump the third president in American history to be tried in the Senate.
